Description Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. is conducting a search for a seasoned Senior Human Resources and Labour Relations Generalist on behalf of our Client. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who excels at building trusted relationships across all levels of an organization while providing strategic and hands-on support in both Human Resources and Labour Relations. Acting as a key advisor to leaders, employees, and union representatives, the Sr. HR & Labour Relations Generalist will provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, collective agreement interpretation, and grievance processes, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and discretion.

In this role, the Sr. HR & Labour Relations Generalist will lead workplace investigations, support conflict resolution, and oversee absence management and return-to-work programs. This position will play an integral role in collective agreement administration and will actively participate in union meetings, grievance handling, arbitrations, and negotiations. Leveraging data and analytics, the Sr. HR & Labour Relations Generalist will identify trends and recommend actionable solutions while championing workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role also encompasses full-cycle recruitment responsibilities, including partnering with hiring managers to define role requirements, managing candidate sourcing and selection processes, and overseeing third-party recruitment relationships where applicable. In addition, the successful Candidate will contribute to organizational effectiveness through policy development aligned with legislative requirements, support HR technology enhancements, and participate in broader business initiatives. They will also help foster a positive workplace culture through employee engagement activities and community involvement.

Our ideal candidate brings a post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with a recognized HR designation such as CHRP or CHRL. They will have progressive HR experience within a unionized environment, including strong expertise in labour relations, grievance management, workplace investigations, and performance management. Experience in a manufacturing setting, proficiency with HRIS systems, and the ability to leverage data for decision-making are key differentiators. Our Client’s preferred Salary Target is $85 000 - $95 000 and we encourage all applicants interested in this opportunity to apply. Please note, the hiring salary will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and ability to support the organization.
