Project ID: 10600

Location Cambridge, ON, Elora, ON, Fergus, ON, Georgetown, ON, Guelph, ON, Milton, ON
Description Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with a well-established manufacturer of highly precision machined components in their search for a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Engineering team. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes that support both new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a central role in bridging engineering, quality, and operations, ensuring that manufacturing data, documentation, and processes are aligned and optimized for performance, quality, and scalability.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining manufacturing routings, bills of materials, and item master data within an ERP system, ensuring accuracy between engineering intent and shop floor execution. They will define process flows, cycle times, and resource requirements while collaborating closely with operations teams to validate and refine production processes. In addition, the role requires interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications to assess manufacturability and lead engineering change management initiatives, ensuring proper revision control and communication across stakeholders.

This position will play a key role in Quality Assurance through the development of inspection plans, control plans, and first article documentation, alongside the creation of standardized work instructions and visual aids that drive consistency and repeatability in production. The Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and process stability.

A strong emphasis is placed on tooling and fixturing design, requiring proficiency in 3D CAD to develop effective work-holding solutions and support equipment investment decisions through cost-benefit analysis. The role demands regular engagement with the shop floor to validate designs and ensure practical implementation. Continuous improvement is a core expectation, with the Manufacturing Engineer leading initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance, while also providing technical support to internal teams.

Our ideal candidate will bring a degree or diploma in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, along with several years of experience from within a Precision Machining environment. They will demonstrate strong expertise in interpreting complex engineering drawings, working within ERP systems, and applying sound engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. Experience with SolidWorks and familiarity with modern machining processes, tooling, and work-holding techniques are essential, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
