Quality Engineer

Project ID: 10637

Location Guelph, ON
Description Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. is searching for a Quality Engineer on behalf of a well-established precision manufacturing organization. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements while partnering closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Operations to develop practical, risk-based solutions. Success will be measured by preventing problems before they occur, resolving technical challenges effectively and continuously improving manufacturing and quality processes.

The Quality Engineer will play an active role in New Product Introduction, identifying quality requirements early and working with Engineering and Manufacturing to establish capable processes that consistently meet customer expectations. The position will prepare First Article Inspection Reports, PPAPs and other customer approval documentation while serving as a key technical quality contact during customer visits, audits, and product launches. The Quality Engineer will also lead cross-functional investigations into manufacturing and product quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, implement robust corrective and preventive actions, and champion continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve quality, reduce waste, and increase process capability.

The position will also maintain and continuously improve Quality Management Systems supporting AS9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements, including conducting internal audits and supporting customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits. Rather than relying excessively on inspection and containment, the Quality Engineer will promote prevention, process capability, mistake-proofing, and permanent corrective solutions. Sound engineering judgment and risk-based thinking will be essential, with the successful candidate expected to balance product quality and customer requirements with manufacturing efficiency, cost, delivery and overall operational effectiveness.

Our ideal candidate will bring approximately 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience within a precision machining or manufacturing environment as well as a College Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree in a related discipline preferred. Prior experience with AS9100, ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485, First Articles, PPAPs, customer quality requirements and internal auditing is important, along with a strong understanding of machining and manufacturing processes, GD&T, engineering drawings, CAPA, root cause analysis, risk management and process capability. We are searching for a practical, solutions-oriented professional who can operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, influence cross-functional teams and build credibility with customers and internal stakeholders.

Our Client’s preferred Salary Target is $85,000 - $90,000 and we encourage all applicants interested in this opportunity to apply. Please note, the hiring salary will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and ability to support the organization.
