Description
Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with an entrepreneurial led producer of custom welded, machined, and fabricated products sold into a wide variety of industries, in their search to add the talents of a Production Supervisor to the team to oversee their CNC Machining Department.
The CNC Department Leader will be responsible for the overall performance, safety, quality, and productivity of an assigned manufacturing department. Reporting to senior leadership, this supervisory role will provide strong operational and people leadership to Team Leads, CNC Machinists, Operators, and production staff, ensuring daily production targets are achieved while maintaining strict compliance with Health and Safety standards, ISO procedures, quality requirements, and internal operating policies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving measurable results across productivity, scrap reduction, rework, machine downtime, labour efficiency, equipment utilization, and on-time delivery performance.
This CNC Department Supervisor will oversee daily machining activities, review production schedules, establish priorities, allocate labour and equipment effectively, and ensure proper machine utilization across CNC milling and turning operations. With a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, setups, machining parameters, drawings, tolerances, and inspection requirements, the Supervisor will provide practical leadership in resolving day-to-day production challenges while ensuring parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to specification. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning, the CNC Department Supervisor will identify and resolve systemic production issues, improve machining processes, reduce cycle times and downtime, and implement sustainable continuous improvement initiatives. A strong understanding of ISO-based quality systems and ERP reporting is required to support accurate performance tracking and operational decision-making.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Production Leader who has grown their career within CNC machining and custom manufacturing environments and brings the technical credibility required to effectively lead skilled Machinists and Operators. This individual will display a highly communicative and hands-on leadership style, with a natural and genuine commitment to Health and Safety, Quality, accountability, and continuous improvement in all aspects of managing a CNC production environment. Previous experience leading CNC machining operations within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume custom manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable.
